Amir Ahmadiyya Nigeria Visits Ankpa Kingdom as Ejeh Declares: ‘Ankpa is Home to Ahmadiyya

The Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Respected Alhaj (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, on Saturday 11th October 2025, paid an appreciation visit to His Royal Highness, the Ejeh of Ankpa, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Sadiq Yakub II at his palace, Ankpa, Kogi State. The Amir sahib noted that the purpose of the visit was to express sincere appreciation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to His Royal Highness. Ejeh of Ankpa, the Chairman of Ankpa Traditional Council and Vice Chairman Igala Traditional Council for sustainability of the decades old love and mutual relationship between the Jamaat and his kingdom and to particularly thank His Highness for participation at the Jalsa Salana (National Conference) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of different countries, i.e 2025 United Kingdom Jalsa, 2025 Republic of Ghana Jalsa and 2024 Jalsa Salana of Nigeria . While thanking His Highness for his exemplary leadership and commitment to peaceful co-existence, the Amir used the opportunity to reiterate his usual appeal for mutual love, understanding, and unity of faith among Muslim faithful and not unnecessary attacks on each other on social media and other platforms. He enjoined Muslim Ummah to emulate the lifestyles of the Holy Prophet whose leadership prowess tempted his companions to stand up against the enemies of Islam. Alhaji Alatoye noted that some people had wrong notions that Ahmadis had a separate Holy Quran apart from the one revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Saw) and do not exalt the Holy Prophet. He informed the palace that those were false accusations as Ahmadis do not have a separate Quran and that Ahmadis believed the Holy Prophet as the seal of all prophets and best of mankind. He explained that the coming of the Promised Messiah (AS) should not cause any enmity or hatred among us because all Muslims without exception is expecting the advent of the Promised Messiah in line with the prophecy of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) The Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet are the only tools of guidance and direction for Ahmadis upon which explanations are based. Ahmadis globally are known for preaching the oneness of Allah, unity of Islam, and peaceful co-existence. Responding, His Royal Highness, the Ejeh of Ankpa appreciated the Amir for the visit and said he is always pleased to be and identify with true islam wherever it’s being preached or practised. He declared that “Ankpa is home to Ahmadiyya” and that before ascending the throne as Ejeh, he had on different occasions joined his predecessor who happens to be his father to attend UK Jalsa Salana. He promised to also be at forthcoming Nigeria Jamaat Jalsa by December 20th 2025 inshaAllah. Among the entourage of the respected Amir are the National General Secretary Alh. Jabar Ayelagbe, former Naib Amir (Nothern region) and Chairman Humanity First Nigeria, Dr. Y. A Habeeb, Maulvi Nasir Mahmood of Abuja Metropolis, Maulvi Nasir Khaleelur Rahman of Lokoja Circuit, Igala Circuit President; Malam Muhammed Murtala, Imam Kabeer Olowolayemo, among others.

Amir sahib Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez Leads Delegation to Janazah of Alhaja Falilat Anike Oriyomi Salako, Mother of Honorable Minister of State for Health

Amir sahib, Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez, led a delegation to attend the Janazah of Alhaja Falilat Anike Oriyomi Salako, the mother of the Honorable Minister of State for Health, Dr. Isiaq Salako. In his remarks, Amir sahib expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Minister and his family, acknowledging the late Alhaja Falilat as a devoted follower of the Imam of the Age. He highlighted the significance of her passing in the holy month of Ramadan, describing it as a divine blessing and a testament to a life well spent. Dr. Isiaq Salako, in his address, thanked Allah for the timing of his mother’s passing, stating that he could not have wished for a better moment than during the sacred month of Ramadan. He shared that it had been one of his prayers, as it would serve as a spiritual reminder for him, particularly as a government official, to remain steadfast in the teachings and practices of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). Accompanying Amir sahib in his entourage were the Missionary In-Charge, Maulvi Adnan Tahir; Naib Amir (Finance & Administration), Alhaj Mufadhil Bankole; Sadr Majlis Ansarullah, Alhaj Daud Raji, Muhtamim Muqam Bro Ibrahim Adeosun who also represented the Sadr Majlis Khudammul Ahmadiyya Nigeria, among others. The event concluded with a closing prayer led by Amir sahib.

Visitation of Maulana Munir-Ud-Deen Shams Sahib to Africa Independent Television (AIT)

Maulana Munir-ud-Deen Shams Sahib paid a courtesy visit to Africa Independent Television (AIT), where the station’s management and staff warmly received him. The visit was marked by deep appreciation from AIT, particularly for the hospitality extended to their journalists who covered the recent International Jalsa Salana Jalsauk in the United Kingdom . In his remarks, Maulana Sahib commended AIT for its professionalism and commitment to balanced reporting. He emphasized the need for greater collaboration between the media and Jama’at Ahmadiyya in promoting peace, which aligns with the core values of the Jama’at; spreading love and harmony across the globe. In response, the Director of AIT expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed the station’s dedication to fostering positive engagement. Highlighing AIT’s willingness to offer specialized training for members on international media standards, strengthening their capacity for effective communication.

The Managing Director of Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International (MTA), Maulana Munir ud-Deen Shams Sahib, held a press conference today with representatives from various media houses. During the session, he emphasized the urgent need for global peace, cautioning against the dangers of a Third World War and advocating for harmony among nations. He also clarified that Islamic Shariah does not infringe upon the rights of non-Muslims, highlighting its principles of justice and coexistence. Furthermore, he announced MTA’s collaboration with leading Nigerian television stations, including TVC, AIT, MITV, and NTA, to expand digital content distribution. As a gesture of goodwill and enlightenment, he presented copies of the book World Crisis and the Pathway to Peace by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (may Allah be his Helper) to all members of the press, underscoring the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s commitment to promoting peace and understanding worldwide.
