Speaking during the visit, the Amir emphasized that one of the most meaningful ways to support the nation’s security architecture is through sincere prayers and constructive collaboration with security agencies. “We have come to commend the Nigeria Police Force for the remarkable work being done in securing our nation. Since you assumed office, the Force has recorded more significant achievements in addressing security challenges across the country. Given your outstanding track record and distinguished service, these accomplishments under your leadership are not surprising.” “We appreciate the Nigerian Police and other security agencies’ successes in combating banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and other criminal activities. As a faith-based organization, we reaffirm our moral and spiritual support for your leadership and pray for greater success in your efforts to safeguard Nigeria.” Barr. Alatoye also dissociated Islam from acts of terrorism and violence, stressing that the religion promotes peace, justice, and harmonious coexistence among people of different ethnic, linguistic, and religious backgrounds. “Let me reiterate that Islam stands for peace. Acts of banditry and terrorism cannot be attributed to Islam. Those involved in such crimes are driven by personal interests, struggles for power, territorial control, or access to resources. Islam is not a religion of violence. The only form of force recognized in Islam is self-defence against aggression,” he stated. Highlighting the global activities of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Amir noted that the organization remains committed to promoting peace and fostering mutual understanding among people worldwide. He added that the Worldwide Head of the Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atba), continues to engage world leaders on the urgent need to embrace peace and prevent global conflicts. “The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community advocates peace and promotes love, compassion, and service to humanity. This is reflected in our enduring motto: ‘Love for All, Hatred for None.’ We cannot claim to practice Islam while harboring hatred for any of God’s creation. Our members are law-abiding citizens who remain committed to peaceful coexistence and national development,” he added. In his response, the Inspector-General of Police stated that he was well acquainted with the longstanding contributions of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Nigeria, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and humanitarian services since its establishment in the country in 1916. “We are delighted to receive you at the Force Headquarters. Religious organizations remain critical partners in our collective efforts to secure the nation. We hold the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in high regard because of its long-standing reputation for peace, discipline, and respect for the law.” “I am personally familiar with the Community. My father attended Ahmadiyya College in Lagos, while some of us later moved to Anwar-ul-Islam schools. Members of the Ahmadiyya Community are widely known as peaceful and responsible citizens.” The IGP further appealed for continued support from the Jama’at in addressing the nation’s security challenges. “We are all partners in progress. This is a time for all stakeholders to unite against the common threats confronting our nation. We need every support available to strengthen security across the country. Alatoye Folorunso Azeez inaugurated Masjid Fazl, a newly built first ever mosque in the village. The mosque was constructed and donated by the grand daughters of Late Hazrat Nadir Malik Khan Sahib (ra), a companion of the Promised Messiah (as) who took Baiat in Africa in 1897. Siting the mosque in Morakinyo Village is not only a landmark achievement but a historic initiative, capping the successful Tabligh (Preaching) expeditions of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community which were orchestrated and spearheaded by notable missionaries and members of Coca Cola branch of the Muslim organisation. Delivering his speech at the event, the Amir commended the efforts of members who are the brains behind the successful preaching expedition leading to the donation of landed property to Ahmadiyya community to contruct the mosque. He enjoined members not to relent in their efforts towards the preaching activities which always attract more converts into Ahmadiyya fold, adding that members’ good conduct and characters would automatically qualify them as role models in the hearts of non members. Alh. Alatoye also admonished members to uphold the sanctity of mosque, being a sacred place of worship, noting that offering of prayers and holding of Taleem (Education) Classes must be adopted as the most critical activities in the mosque. The Village Chief Pa Rafiu Olasunmade expressed his gratitude to the Ahmadiyya Community for building the mosque in the area, which according to him, will serve dual purpose of worshipping Allah and training their wards the basic tenets of Islam. Among the dignitaries that attended the mosque commissioning are: the Naib Amir (Deputy National Head) Finance and Administration Alh. Mufadhil Bankole; the General Secretary AMJN Alh. Amir AMJN Inaugurates Baitul Dua Mosque in Temidire, Akure

The Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alhaj (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez has officially commissioned the Baitul Dua Mosque in Temidire, Ondo State today 1st May 2026. The mosque was donated by the families of Late Mr. Sheikh Muhammad Sajid and Late Mrs. Shamim Akhtar. The event was well attended by prominent personalities within and outside the Ahmadiyya Community including the paramount ruler Olu of Ita Oniyan of Akure LandAmir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Nigeria, Circuit President Alhaji Sulaiman Nuh, and Oba Akinyemi Ishak, the Olu of Ita Oniyan of Akure land; Naib Amir (Deputy Head) Finance and Administration of AMJN Alh. Mufadhil Bankole; General Secretary AMJN Alh. Ayelagbe Jabar; and National Jaidad (Incharge Properties) Secretary AMJN Builder B.S.A Towolawi. The branch president, Alhaji Sulaiman Nuh warmly welcomed the Amir and his entourage, offering sincere prayers for divine guidance and spiritual protection over his leadership, describing his presence as an honour and a source of encouragement for the entire community. The land upon which Baitul Dua Mosque stands has a remarkable history. Originally owned by a Christian congregation, an internal dispute among its members led to its eventual sale and subsequent acquisition by the Jama’at, a development the community regards as divine providence. The journey was not without challenges. An earlier mosque at Ire Akari, built during the tenure of Muallim A.G. Oladipupo, was demolished over a land rights dispute. Through the combined contributions of the Jama’at, a generous member, and the then Missionary-in-Charge Maulvi Nayyar Khalique, a new foundation was laid though it later stalled due to inactivity. A subsequent missionary reignited the vision, drawing inspiration from the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who first built a home upon arriving in Madinah. The Jama’at followed this counsel, building a mission house before completing the permanent mosque that stands today. The Amir delivered an insightful and compelling address distinguishing the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community from other Islamic sects, affirming that it represents the truest expression of Islam. He stated categorically that the Promised Messiah, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him), was a prophecy fulfilled part of a divine chain of prophecies spanning generations. He noted that it is human nature for some to accept divine truth and others to reject it, as has been the experience of every prophet throughout history. He further urged members to remain steadfast, engage the world with wisdom, and uphold the community’s cherished motto of “Love for All, Hatred for None.” The ceremony concluded on a spiritually uplifting note as the first Jumu’ah service was held in the newly commissioned mosque, led by the Amir, a historic and deeply moving moment as the mosque fulfilled its sacred purpose for the very first time

He charged the pioneer students to uphold the university’s founding philosophy of producing graduates who are not only academically sound but morally grounded men and women of integrity, purpose, and service. For the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria and indeed the global Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Thursday’s matriculation is more than a ceremony it is the living proof that a dream nurtured across generations has finally taken root. Amir Lays Foundation for Reconstruction of AMJN Central Mosque, Osogbo

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria marked a significant milestone on Thursday 30 April, 2026 as the Amir, Alhaji (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez laid the foundation for the reconstruction of the AMJN Central Mosque in Osogbo a project that carries both deep historical significance and a profoundly personal connection for the community’s national leader. The reconstruction is being undertaken as part of a mosque-building donation by former Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Maulana Ajmal Shahid, whose legacy of selfless service and dedication to the growth of the Jama’at continues to find enduring expression in this generous gift to the Osogbo community. Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony, the Amir reflected warmly on the rich history of the mosque, sharing a personal testimony that added a deeply moving dimension to the occasion. He recalled that he himself had stayed within the mosque as far back as 1984 for a year, a disclosure that drew a direct and living connection between his own journey of faith and the very walls now being raised anew. For those present, it was a powerful reminder that this mosque is not merely a structure of brick and mortar, but a witness to decades of worship, sacrifice, and community life. Beyond his personal reflections, Amir delivered a compelling message of unity, encouragement, and spiritual perspective to members of the Jama’at. He urged members not to feel discouraged or overlooked, reminding them that service to the Jama’at takes many forms and that every role whether prominent or quietly performed carries equal value and honour within the community. He further emphasised that members assigned or delegated with specific responsibilities were carefully identified as the most capable and suitable hands for those roles at that particular time. Drawing from Islamic history to drive home his point, the Amir cited the example of the noble companion of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Hazrat Abu Dhar (may Allah be pleased with him) despite his immense piety and devotion, Hazrat Abu Dhar was advised by the Holy Prophet not to take up public office or a position of leadership, as he was considered soft-hearted for the weight of such responsibility. Rather than viewing this as a slight, he was encouraged to continue being an exemplary follower, to persist in his good deeds, and to find honour in that path of quiet, faithful service. The Amir used this profound example to remind members that being passed over for a particular role is not a measure of one’s worth or standing before Allah. What matters, he stressed, is the sincerity of purpose and the willingness to serve in whatever capacity one finds oneself. His message was ultimately one of collective ownership that the Jama’at is not built by a select few, but by the faithful, consistent commitment of every member. The ceremony was graced by several distinguished Jama’at dignitaries, reflecting the importance of the occasion to the wider Jama’at. In attendance were the Naib Amir for Finance and Administration, Alhaji (Engr.) Mufadhil Bankole; former Amir of AMJN, Alhaji Comrade H. O. Sumonu; General Secretary Alhaji Ayelagbe Abdul Jabar, Sadr Majlis Ansarullah, Alhaji Dauda A. Raji; and the National Jaidad Secretary, Builder Towolawi B. S. A. Also present were longstanding and revered members of the Osogbo Jama’at, Alhaji Alawode and Alhaji BenSalah, whose years of faithful service to the local community lent the occasion an added sense of heritage and continuity. The reconstruction of the Central Mosque is expected to produce a more befitting and expansive place of worship for the growing Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Osogbo, further consolidating the Jama’at’s presence and outreach across Osun State.
