Amir AMJN Meets IGP Tunji Disu on National Security

The Amir (National Head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alhaj (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. The visit is part of the Jama’at’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with security agencies across the country towards finding lasting solutions to security challenges in the country. Speaking during the visit, the Amir emphasized that one of the most meaningful ways to support the nation’s security architecture is through sincere prayers and constructive collaboration with security agencies. “We have come to commend the Nigeria Police Force for the remarkable work being done in securing our nation. Since you assumed office, the Force has recorded more significant achievements in addressing security challenges across the country. Given your outstanding track record and distinguished service, these accomplishments under your leadership are not surprising.” “We appreciate the Nigerian Police and other security agencies’ successes in combating banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and other criminal activities. As a faith-based organization, we reaffirm our moral and spiritual support for your leadership and pray for greater success in your efforts to safeguard Nigeria.” Barr. Alatoye also dissociated Islam from acts of terrorism and violence, stressing that the religion promotes peace, justice, and harmonious coexistence among people of different ethnic, linguistic, and religious backgrounds. “Let me reiterate that Islam stands for peace. Acts of banditry and terrorism cannot be attributed to Islam. Those involved in such crimes are driven by personal interests, struggles for power, territorial control, or access to resources. Islam is not a religion of violence. The only form of force recognized in Islam is self-defence against aggression,” he stated. Highlighting the global activities of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Amir noted that the organization remains committed to promoting peace and fostering mutual understanding among people worldwide. He added that the Worldwide Head of the Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atba), continues to engage world leaders on the urgent need to embrace peace and prevent global conflicts. “The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community advocates peace and promotes love, compassion, and service to humanity. This is reflected in our enduring motto: ‘Love for All, Hatred for None.’ We cannot claim to practice Islam while harboring hatred for any of God’s creation. Our members are law-abiding citizens who remain committed to peaceful coexistence and national development,” he added. In his response, the Inspector-General of Police stated that he was well acquainted with the longstanding contributions of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Nigeria, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and humanitarian services since its establishment in the country in 1916. “We are delighted to receive you at the Force Headquarters. Religious organizations remain critical partners in our collective efforts to secure the nation. We hold the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in high regard because of its long-standing reputation for peace, discipline, and respect for the law.” “I am personally familiar with the Community. My father attended Ahmadiyya College in Lagos, while some of us later moved to Anwar-ul-Islam schools. Members of the Ahmadiyya Community are widely known as peaceful and responsible citizens.” The IGP further appealed for continued support from the Jama’at in addressing the nation’s security challenges. “We are all partners in progress. This is a time for all stakeholders to unite against the common threats confronting our nation. We need every support available to strengthen security across the country. Amir AMJN Visits Aragbiji of Iragbiji as Monarch Calls for Quality, Discipline, and Strategic Growth at Minaret University

His Royal Highness, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji and Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, has urged the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria to uphold high standards of quality and discipline in the development of Minaret University, Ikirun. He made the remarks while receiving the leadership of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria led by the Amir, Alhaj Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez in his palace at Iragbiji, Osun State. The monarch offered strong words of support and counsel for the fast-growing Minaret University, Ikirun. He recalled the long-standing contribution of Ahmadiyya to the development of education in Nigeria. The development, he said, was a great boost to the efforts of regional and national government on educational development in the country. The monarch emphasized the importance of strategic communication in building a credible institution. He particularly emphasized the need to carry out aggressive publicity in both conventional and unconventional media for Minaret University to improve students’ enrolment. He encouraged the University to deploy strong social media coverage to boost its image. According to him, everywhere the public turn going forward, the news should be about the Minaret University. Oba Olabomi also advised the University Management not to compromise on quality in its teaching and other services of the institution. The Kabiyesi called their attention to the volatility and high labour mobility in university administration. He encouraged the Management to utilise the services of retired lecturers who possess vast experience in lecturing, and are more stable noting that younger lecturers often seek greener pastures. He charged the Management of Minaret University to ensure they instil discipline in students stressing that knowledge without discipline is a waste. According to him, “Discipline is not just about faith and must remain a non-negotiable value. Universities must uphold standards firmly so that deviant behaviour does not evolve into gangs or dangerous groups,” he cautioned. On infrastructural development, Kabiyesi charged the leadership of the jama’at to set clear timelines for the development of its permanent site. He urged the institution to maximize its land resources with a robust master plan, including building multi-storey structures capable of delivering both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Against the backdrop of what he described as international conspiracy against Islam which negatively impacts funding, Oba Olabomi charged the leadership of Ahmadiyya to be as prudent as possible, connect with individuals who can support the Minaret project, and seek international support from Ahmadiyya worldwide. Oba Olabomi also charged the Management to build strong collaboration with other faith-based universities to promote institutional learning and for increased visibility to attract students and lecturers of high repute. Amir AMJN Condoles with Ikirunland Over the Loss of Its Eminent Sons

The Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Alh.(Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez paid condolence visits to the Akirun-in Council and families of late eminent personalities in Ikirun who passed away recently. The families visited are those of late Prince Ismaila Adeyemi, Alhaji Gasali Lawal, DIG (Rtd.), and the late Chief Imam of Ikirun land Alhaj. Yunus Ibrahim Balogun. While Prince Adeyemi, the Medical Director of Cristal Hospital, Akowonjo, Lagos, was a renowned medical practitioner based in Lagos, Alhaj. Lawal retired as Deputy Inspector General of Police and served as the Asiwaju of Ikirun until his death, and Alhaj Balogun, a prominent Islamic scholar, was the Grand Chief Imam of Ikirun until his death. The news of the death of Dr Adeyemi broke first on Wednesday 7th January and was followed by that of Alh Lawal on Saturday 10th January, while that of Sheik Balogun filtered on Monday 12th January, 2026. While commiserating with the Akirun-in-council, the Respected Amir described the deceased as great heroes of Ikirun Land whose significant contributions have positively impacted the current status of Ikirun. He also commended the efforts of these great leaders towards the success of Minaret University Ikirun, a new faith-based university established by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. At the home of late Prince Adeyemi, Barrister Alatoye noted: “The late icon of Ikirunland was specifically instrumental to the proposal of acquisition of an additional 100 Acres of land for the Minaret University Ikirun, and was very supportive to the actualization of the project till his last breath”. At the Late Lawal residence, the Amir stated: “he was indeed a great personality and huge supporter of the Minaret University project, as he always looked forward to the commencement of academic activities in the university. He was also always at the forefront of securing the facilities at the University premises.” And while at the family house of Late Chief Imam, the Amir said: “The late Chief Imam was a role model to all in terms of brokering peace among warring parties. Oba Festus Awogboro Lauds Ahmadiyya Jama’at as Nigeria’s Outstanding Muslim Organisation

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria has been described as the most successful and exemplary faith-based Muslim organisation in the country. This commendation was given by the Baabokun of Ibokun, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kayode Festus Awogboro, during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Nigeria, led by the Amir (National Head), Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, to his palace on Saturday, 17 January 2025. The monarch, who disclosed that he had the privilege of meeting the Supreme Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community during the 2024 International Convention held in the United Kingdom, praised the Jama’at for its remarkable achievements both in Nigeria and globally. He particularly highlighted the organisation’s dedication to the propagation of the core tenets of Islam, peacebuilding initiatives, selfless humanitarian services, promotion of quality education, and the advocacy of peaceful coexistence among adherents of different faiths. “Without mincing words, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the best Muslim organisation in the country. Please quote me anywhere,” Oba Awogboro declared. He further stated: “I have made comparisons and concluded that Ahmadi Muslims stand out in Nigeria in the areas of peaceful propagation of Islamic teachings, hospitality, and humanitarian services, among other laudable acts of selfless service. I attended the Jama’at’s international conference in London, where the Supreme Head spoke extensively on pathways to peaceful coexistence. Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomoso Land Hails Ahmadiyya Muslim Community as ‘Partners in Progress’

The Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomoso Land, Alh. (Dr.) Imam Yunus Teliat Olushina (Ayilara II) has described the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community as a loyal, faithful, and peace-loving Muslim organisation whose peaceful coexistence and preachings exemplifies the basic tenets of Islam. Imam Ayilara made the remarks during the courtesy visit of the Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Alhaj. (Barr.) The Grand Chief Imam mentioned that he was not alien to Jama’at activities in the country and disclosed his relationships with some notable members within the Jama’at. “Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at is well known to me because I am very close to some individuals within the Jama’at. The former Principal of Jamia Ahmadiyya Nigeria Maulvi Azeem Ahmad was my very close friend till now. We both had our Master’s degrees at the University of Ibadan. He was a loving and admirable individual. Another person is Alh. Ayelagbe Jabar, the current National General Secretary, AMJN. We were previously together at the Nigeria Securities and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Amir AMJN Visits Ikoyi Ile Circuit, Extends Courtesies to Chief Imam

The Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Alh. (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, on Friday 7th November 2025, in continuation of his nationwide tour to assess Jamaat progress and Members’ welfare embarked on a working visit to the Ikoyi-Ile branch of the Jama’at. In his usual tradition, the Amir and his entourage visited the Chief Imam of Ikoyi-ile, Alhaj Yusuf Abdul Rasaki Akewusola. He appreciated the warm reception and good neighborliness accorded to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the town. He mentioned that the Ahmadiyya Community always preaches and stands for peaceful co-existence and strongly frowns at violent conduct in all respects. “We have come to pay homage to you and to thank you for your continuous support and cooperation with our members in Ikoyi Ile town. This is the hallmark of Islamic teachings in general.” Barr. Alatoye highlighted some of the achievements of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Nigeria, including pioneering efforts in the establishment of Muslim schools, medical services, and humanitarian services, among others. In continuation of Jama’at’s efforts in collaborating with critical stakeholders to foster mutual understanding and peaceful co-existence, the Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Alhaj (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez paid official visit to Ogiyan of Ejigbo Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyeyosin II at his Palace in Ejigbo, Osun State on Sunday 2nd November 2025. The Amir appreciated the unflinching support and good neighborliness shown to Ahmadiyya Muslim Community by His Majesty and his Kingdom. This, he said, has impacted the Jama’at activities positively in Ejigbo Land. Barr. Alatoye used the avenue to further expatiate on the basic tenets of Islam, which centered around peace. It is a religion that abhors all forms of violence. Prophet Muhammad (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) is a peace loving personality. Hence, terrorism can not be traced to Islam. Those who engaged in terrorist activities are doing so for their selfish motives, such as the acquisition of more territories and solid mineral resources, among others,” the Amir stated. The National Head further highlighted some of the core activities of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which include: education, medical outreach, orphanage program, disaster recovery program, gift of sight, Community service, water for life, food for life and general welfarism. He added that the Muslim organisation discharged these activities to all humanity irrespective of their religions, ethnic groups, tribes or other affiliations. In the education sector, the Amir restates Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s pioneering efforts of Muslim education in Nigeria, leading to the establishment of hundreds of schools (both primary and secondary) across the country before the government took over the administration of majority of the schools. He mentioned that the Jama’at has just established a unique university named ‘MINARET UNIVERSITY IKIRUN’ with Ejigbo Campus set to host Faculty of Computer Engineering. Governor Bassey Otu Commends Ahmadiyya’s Strides in Education and Humanitarian Services The Amir (National Head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, during his official visit to Cross River State, paid a courtesy call on the Governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, at the Government House, Calabar. In his remarks, the respected Amir Sahib commended Governor Otu for his visionary leadership and the impactful implementation of his People’s First Agenda, which has positively touched every facet of governance in the state. He lauded the Governor for his inclusive approach and the support extended to the Muslim community in Cross River, which has continued to enhance peaceful coexistence among residents of diverse faiths. The Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria on Saturday, 11th and Sunday, 12th October, 2025, paid a spiritually uplifting and welfare-oriented visit to Igala and Lokoja Circuits, Kogi State. At both circuits, members warmly received Amir Sahib and expressed deep appreciation for his visit, describing it as a source of encouragement and spiritual rejuvenation. Members of each Circuit led by their Circuit Presidents and Central/Circuit Missionaries used the opportunity to share some of the progress reports of the Jamaat while not forgetting challenges facing their branches and sought the guidance, continued support and prayers of the respected Amir Sahib. Respected Amir Sahib appreciated the Circuits for the warm receptions, he reiterated directives and guidance of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba) to the Nigerian Jamaat which are Strengthening Tabligh (propagation) activities across all regions; Renewed commitment to Wasiyyat and ensuring every eligible member participates actively, Working towards the financial independence of the Jamaat; Upholding strict adherence to Nizam-e-Jamaat, and work harmoniously for the successful establishment and growth of Minaret University. He urged members to continue to pray fervently for Allah’s blessings, that all undertakings of the Jamaat and its members become resourceful and impactful. He encouraged members to remain grateful, united, and devoid of bitterness, both in words and actions. Amir Sahib further reminded them that Huzur (aba) has approved the establishment of the Ahmadiyya Business Association of Nigeria and that he has challenged the association to seize emerging opportunities within government and the wider economy, and to make meaningful contributions to the development of the Jamaat and the nation at large. In line with Huzur’s guidance, he reminded members that the Jamaat must strive to make a positive impact in governance, and thus encouraged members with the capacity and passion to engage in politics and public service, with the intention of promoting justice, integrity, and the values of Islam. As part of his visit, Respected Amir Sahib extended welfare and condolence courtesies to two respected members of the Jamaat. He paid a get-well visit to Dr. Bala of Ogbagede, who is currently recovering from illness, and also visited Mrs. Yahya, widow of Late Bro. Ismail Yahya, former Commissioner for Special Duties, Kogi State who died recently to offer prayers and condolences. Amir Ahmadiyya Nigeria Pays Courtesy Visit to Lagos Governor’s Advisory Council Chairman, Prince Dr. Tajudeen Olusi

The Amir (National Head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alhaji (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez, today paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Prince (Dr.) Tajudeen Olusi, MON, OON at his Lagos residence. The visit formed part of the Jama’at’s continued efforts in propagating the peaceful teachings of Islam and fostering strong community relations. In his remarks, the Respected Amir Sahib expressed gratitude for the warm reception by Prince (Dr.) Olusi. He emphasized that Islam, as consistently preached by the Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community worldwide, is a religion of peace, tolerance, and social justice. He reiterated that the Jama’at strongly rejects violence against persons or government, referencing the numerous addresses of Worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to Parliaments and world leaders across the globe. The Amir Sahib also used the occasion to extend a formal invitation to Prince Dr. Olusi to attend the 2025 Jalsa Salana Nigeria, scheduled to hold from 19th – 21st December 2025. In his response, Prince Dr. Tajudeen Olusi described himself as someone with a long acquittances with the Jama’at. He fondly recalled how in the early 1930s, Maulvi Ahmad, a former Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at and then a teacher at Ansarudeen College, Isolo profoundly shaped his understanding of Islamic principles, which have since guided his life. Prince Dr. Olusi expressed appreciation for the Jama’at’s literature presented to him during the visit and, in reciprocity, gifted the Jama’at copies of the Holy Qur’an and some of his authored books. The Respected Amir Sahib was accompanied on the visit by the Former Amir and Secretary Umur Kharijiyya, Professor Mas’hud Adenrele Fashola sahib; the General Secretary of the Jama’at, Alhaji AbdulJabar Ayelagbe; Officer Jalsa Salana, Engr.
