The Aminul Qur’an programme at Monatan Circuit became a profound moment of spiritual awakening and institutional reflection as the Respected Amir sahib, Alh. Barr. Alatoye Folorunso Azeez sahib, admonished members that the Qur’an must be embraced as a complete guide for life, not merely a text for recitation or ceremonial reference.
In his address, the Amir sahib stressed that individual conduct, family life, leadership, education, and societal development must all be shaped by the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. He reminded the gathering that true success lies in aligning daily decisions with Qur’anic principles, noting that a community that lives by the Qur’an will naturally produce disciplined, principled, and trustworthy individuals.
The Amir sahib arrived with a distinguished entourage that added weight and honour to the occasion. With him were the Naib Amir (Finance and Administration), Alh. Mufadil Bankole sahib; the General Secretary, Alh. AbdulJabbar Ayelaagbe sahib; the Vice Chancellor of Minaret University, Ikirun, Prof. Abdur Rahman Oladele Abdullah sahib; the Assistant General Secretaries, Bro. Nurudeen Akinreti sahib and Bro. Sodiq Aremu sahib; and the Guest Lecturer, Ustadh Abdur Roqib Akinyemi sahib.
After his Qur’an-centred admonition, the Amir sahib expressed deep appreciation to members of the Jama‘at for their relentless efforts toward the successful inauguration of Minaret University, Ikirun. He described the achievement as a collective triumph driven by sacrifice, vision, and unwavering commitment. He further charged members to ensure that their wards apply to and attend the University, emphasizing that Minaret University is committed to producing graduates who are not only academically competent but also morally upright and trustworthy.
The Amir sahib also noted that this outing marked the first official engagement of the Vice Chancellor after the inauguration of the University, describing it as a special grace and honour bestowed upon the Monatan Circuit.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdur Rahman Oladele Abdullah sahib, recalled that the Monatan Mosque once hosted a pivotal meeting where Jama‘at academics deliberated on curriculum content and other foundational matters when the idea of Minaret University was first conceived. He therefore described Monatan Circuit as having a historical connection to the University. He encouraged all Circuits to closely guide and monitor their wards who will be writing UTME this year, urging them to choose Minaret University.
The spiritual highlight of the programme was the lecture delivered by Ustadh Abdur Roqib Akinyemi on the theme “Qur’an as a Complete Guide of Life.” His lecture reinforced the Amir sahib’s message, emphasizing that the Qur’an provides holistic guidance for both worldly success and spiritual fulfilment.
The Respected Amir sahib and his delegation were warmly received by the hosts, led by the Circuit President, Alh. Hammed, alongside the Central Maulvi for Akinyele and Monatan Circuits, Maulvi Shamsudeen Ojo sahib, Al-Haafidh AbdulGaniyy Shobambi, and other notable personalities within the Circuit.
The outing stood as more than a formal visit; it was a reaffirmation of purpose, reminding all present that when the Qur’an remains the compass of life, the Jama‘at is well positioned to nurture generations that are guided, competent, and worthy of trust.
