The Amir, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Barr. (Alh.) AbdulAzeez Alatoye, has emphasized the importance of unity and harmony in Islam during the 30th anniversary celebration of Zakariyyah Institute of Qur’an Memorization and Arabic Studies at the University of Ibadan on Sunday, 8th October, 2023.
The leader urged believers to follow Islam’s teachings of unity and patience, and to avoid actions that could lead to disharmony. He reiterated that Muslims should not criticize each other, as Allah is the ultimate judge who alone knows the state of man, he also encouraged brotherhood among Muslim counterparts to foster the growth of Islam.
Barrister Alatoye urged the participants to adopt the teachings of the Holy Quran, he highlighted that this practice promotes peaceful coexistence and harmony within society.
Amir stressed the significance of good understanding among Muslim leaders where he discouraged condemnations and addressed the need for positive corrections in regard with the teachings of the Holy Prophet. He said “Muslims should project Islam peacefully by contributing to humanity and avoid conflicts, these are the true teachings of Islam”.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim president praised the founder of Zakariyyah Institute, Dr. Abbas Zakariyyah Al-Qaarii, for his efforts in promoting Qura’n, unifying Islam and embracing love and togetherness. He wished for the continued success of Dr. Abbas and his Islamic institute, as well as the progress of the Muslim community.
Barr. Alatoye also extended his regards to the former Amir, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Professor Moshood Fashola, and esteemed scholar Fadeetatu Sheikh Muideen Bello, who both attended the event.
In the concluding moments of the event, the Amir of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria was recognized for his selfless dedication to promoting Quran and Arabic knowledge across South-West Nigeria.
