Today, we had the honour of seeing off Maulana Munir-ud-Deen Shams Sahib, Managing Director of MTA International, as he departed for the United Kingdom following his successful working visit to Nigeria. We remain grateful for his time, dedication, and invaluable contributions to the Jama’at. His visit has been a source of inspiration, and we pray for his continued success and good health. Amir Sahib Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria Hosts Farewell Reception for Managing Director of MTA International, Maulana Munir-ud-Deen Shams Sahib

The Amir of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alh . Barrister Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez sahib, hosted a farewell reception in honor of Maulana Munir-ud-Deen Shams Sahib, Managing Director of Muslim Television Ahmadiyya (MTA) International, marking the conclusion of his successful working visit to Nigeria. In his address, the Amir expressed profound gratitude to Allah the Almighty for granting Maulana Sahib a fruitful and successful stay in Nigeria. He also extended heartfelt appreciation to His Holiness, Hazrat Amirul Mumineen, Khalifatul Masih V (aba), for his gracious approval of the MD’s visit. He offered prayers for the continued guidance, protection, and good health of the Khalifatul Masih (aba) and commended Maulana Munir-ud-Deen Shams Sahib for his outstanding service to the Jama’at. Maulana Munir-ud-Deen Shams Sahib, in his remarks, expressed deep appreciation for the warm hospitality he received during his stay in Nigeria. He acknowledged and thanked all those who contributed to making his visit memorable and, in particular, expressed his gratitude to the Amir for accompanying him to various locations. He prayed for the Amir and all members of Jama’at Nigeria, wishing them continued blessings and outstanding success. He further emphasized the importance of obedience to the Khalifah of the time, stating that true success lies in following his directives without hesitation or misinterpretation. He advised members to act immediately upon receiving instructions from Huzoor-e-Anwar (aba) rather than questioning or overanalyzing their meanings. The reception was graced by several esteemed personalities, including the Missionary-in-Charge, Maulvi Adnan Tahir Sahib; Naib Amir (Finance and Administration), Alh. Mufadil Bankole Sahib; Naib Amir (Tabligh and Tajneed), Dr. Abdul Latif Busari Sahib; Naib Amir (Taleem and Tarbiyyah), Alh. Abdul Lateef Folorunso Sahib; Sadr Majlis Ansarullah Nigeria, Alh. Dauda Raji Sahib; and Sadr Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Nigeria, Mr. Abdur Roqib Akinyemi Sahib. The Sadr Lajna Imaillah Nigeria was ably represented by Naib Sadr, Chief Magistrate Matepo Sahiba. Also in attendance were distinguished dignitaries, including former Amir, Alh. Engr. H. O. Sumonu Sahib; Prof. Mash’ud Adenrele Fashola Sahib; former Naib Amir (Special Duties), Alh. Al-Hassan Sahib; Director MTA Nigeria Studio Dr Qasim Akinreti sahib, MUI VC-designate; Prof. Abdur Rahman Abdullahi Sahib; Editor-in-Chief of The Truth!, Alh. Isiak Popoola Sahib; Alhaja Sumonu Sahiba; staff members of MTA Nigeria Studio, and other esteemed members of the Jama’at. The event served as a fitting tribute to Maulana Munir-ud-Deen Shams Sahib’s dedicated service and reaffirmed the strong bond between MTA International and Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria.

Maulana Muneer-ud-Deen Shams Sahib visited Muritala International Television (MITV), where he was warmly received by the Chairman, Alhaji Muri Gbade Busari. Accompanying him were the respected Amir Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alhaji Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez Sahib; the Naib Amir Administration and Finance, Alhaji Mufadil Bankole Sahib; the MTA Director Africa Studios, Respected Umar Safir Sahib; the MTA Coordinator Nigeria Studio, Dr. Qasim Akinreti Sahib; along with other esteemed members of the MTA studio team. In his address, Maulana Sahib commended MITV for its dedication to fair and professional journalism. He emphasized the need for a stronger partnership in promoting peace and spreading Jama’at Ahmadiyya’s message of love and understanding through responsible media engagement. Similarly, the respected Amir Sahib expressed his heartfelt gratitude to MITV for its commitment to unbiased reporting and its support for positive societal change. He highlighted the crucial role media plays in shaping narratives and fostering unity and encouraged continuous collaboration between MITV and Jama’at Ahmadiyya in advocating for truth, peace, and moral values through ethical journalism. In response, the Chairman of MITV appreciated the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the bond between the station and Jama’at Ahmadiyya. He assured continued collaboration and pledged to support training programs that would equip members with international best practices in modern broadcasting and ethical journalism.

On February 10, 2025, a high-level delegation from MTA International and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to the former Amir (National President) of the Jama’at in Nigeria, Alhaji (Engr.) Hussein Taiwo Sumonu, at his residence. The distinguished delegation included Maulana Munir ud Din Shams, Managing Director of MTA International; Mr. Umar Safir, Director of MTA Africa; Alhaji (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez, the current Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria; and Dr. Qasim Akinreti, Coordinator of MTA Nigeria Studios. The visit served as a gesture of love and appreciation for Alhaji Sumonu’s invaluable contributions to the Jama’at and the progress of Islam in Nigeria. He highlighted that about 99% of MTA’s workforce consists of volunteers from various professional backgrounds who work without pay. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing between MTA and TVC. The Amir of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria spoke about the organization’s dedication to promoting peace. He mentioned that the Global Leader of the Ahmadiyya Community has delivered numerous lectures on world peace and non-violence. He encouraged TVC to continue using its platform to spread messages of peace across the country. In response, Mrs. Victoria Abiola Ajayi commended MTA’s efforts and assured them that TVC is open to future collaborations to strengthen their relationship. The meeting ended with the MD of MTA International presenting gifts to Mrs. Victoria Abiola Ajayi and the TVC board members. Afterward, Mr..Ibraheem Shitta led the MTA delegation on a brief tour of TVC’s facilities.

Their presence underscored the spirit of unity and dedication to the noble mission of spreading the peaceful message of Islam through the blessed platform of MTA International.
