Amir AMJN Commissions New Mosques in Oke-Itunu, Ibadan (Oyo State) and Ifon-Osun (Osun State)
It was another remarkable milestone on Friday, 31st October 2025, as the Amir (National Head) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alhaj (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, commissioned two newly built mosques at Oke Itunu, Ibadan, Oyo State, and Ifon-Osun, Osun State. The Oke Itunu Mosque inaugurated early in the day while the Ifon-Osun Mosque was commissioned shortly before the Jum‘ah service. In his remarks at Oke-Itunu, the Respected Amir expressed deep appreciation to the Agarawu family, particularly Mrs. Rahmat Salahudeen, whose relentless commitment led to the safeguard of the land for the mosque despite several challenges. Amir Sahib admonished members to emulate the noble character of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) by upholding honesty, trustworthiness, and kindness in all dealings. He emphasized that the Jama’at’s motto, “Love for All, Hatred for None,” should continue to be guiding principle to inspire members to become role models and positive change agents in society. At Ifon-Osun, Osun State, In what stands as an extraordinary achievement, the Ifon-Osun Mosque was constructed and completed within just 15 days — a feat the Amir described as a testament to the dedication, unity, and faith-driven commitment of members. Respected Amir Sahib attributed this remarkable success to the continuous prayers, guidance, and blessings of the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (May Allah be his Helper). Delivering the first-ever Friday sermon at the newly completed mosque, Barr. Alatoye reminded worshippers that a mosque is a sacred space for spiritual nourishment and collective worship. He stressed that messages delivered from the pulpit must always align with the true teachings of Islam — teachings centered on peace, justice, tolerance, and compassion. The Amir firmly reiterated that Islam abhors all forms of violence and social vices, including terrorism, kidnapping, and corruption, urging Muslims to reflect the peaceful image of Islam in their conduct and community life. The Olufon of Ifon-orolu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Peter Ipadeola Akinyooye III, was ably represented by a four-man delegation at the Ifon-Osun commissioning led by High Chief Moshood Lawal, with others such as High Chief Engr. Saheed Oyewo, Chief Miftaudeen Olayiwola, and Chief Akindele Yusuf.
