Amir AMJN Visits Ikoyi Ile Circuit, Extends Courtesies to Chief Imam

 

 

The Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Alh. (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, on Friday 7th November 2025, in continuation of his nationwide tour to assess Jamaat progress and Members’ welfare embarked on a working visit to the Ikoyi-Ile branch of the Jama’at.

In his usual tradition, the Amir and his entourage visited the Chief Imam of Ikoyi-ile, Alhaj Yusuf Abdul Rasaki Akewusola. He appreciated the warm reception and good neighborliness accorded to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the town. He mentioned that the Ahmadiyya Community always preaches and stands for peaceful co-existence and strongly frowns at violent conduct in all respects. “We have come to pay homage to you and to thank you for your continuous support and cooperation with our members in Ikoyi Ile town. This is the hallmark of Islamic teachings in general.”

Barr. Alatoye highlighted some of the achievements of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Nigeria, including pioneering efforts in the establishment of Muslim schools, medical services, and humanitarian services, among others. He noted that humanitarian services are provided to everyone without regard to ethnic groups, religious affiliations, or tribes.

The Amir also appealed for unity among the Muslim ummah in Nigeria, devoid of enmity and hate speeches on social media. “Unity and oneness of the Muslim Ummah are highly essential globally at this trying period. This is not the time to discriminate against one another but to prioritize unity and the welfare of Muslim brothers and sisters.”

In his remarks, the Chief Imam of Ikoyi Ile commended the various contributions and achievements of the Ahmadiyya Community in Nigeria. With sense of appreciation, he noted that the Ahmadiyya Community was his first employer when he was a teacher in Ijebu Oru, Ogun State. On unity among Muslim faithful in the country, he appreciated ceaseless efforts of Ahmadiyya community and mentioned that Muslim leaders and other stakeholders in the state have been holding strategic meetings to address the issue.

Meanwhile, the Amir has admonished members of the Jama’at in Ikoyi Ile Circuit to remain prayerful and steadfast towards surmounting various challenges that may come their way. “Let us remain prayerful and steadfast in our quest to overcome our problems. Almighty God is always with us and answers our prayers all the time. We are all bound to face challenges, but these challenges always make us stronger and better. ”

The National Head also requested members to always comply with the laid-down rules and regulations of the Jamaat and avert hatred in its entirety. The Amir further discussed the progress of the Jama’at in Nigeria, especially on the Minaret University project in Ikirun, Osun State.

Among the entourage of Amir are: the Missionary in Incharge, Maulvi Adnan Tahir; the National General Secretary Alh. Ayelagbe Jabar, the Sadr (National President) Elders Forum Alhaj Dauda Raji; and National Jaidad (Property) Secretary Builder Bashirdeen Towolawi.
