In continuation of Jama’at’s efforts in collaborating with critical stakeholders to foster mutual understanding and peaceful co-existence, the Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Alhaj (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez paid official visit to Ogiyan of Ejigbo Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyeyosin II at his Palace in Ejigbo, Osun State on Sunday 2nd November 2025.
The Amir appreciated the unflinching support and good neighborliness shown to Ahmadiyya Muslim Community by His Majesty and his Kingdom. This, he said, has impacted the Jama’at activities positively in Ejigbo Land.
Barr. Alatoye used the avenue to further expatiate on the basic tenets of Islam, which centered around peace. He condemned any form of activities linking Islam to violent conduct.
“We have come to pay homage to Your Royal Majesty and to thank you for being supportive to Jama’at activities in Ejigbo Land. We thank you for your hospitality towards our members in your domain.” “Let me also use this opportunity to reiterate that the religion of Islam stands for peace and unity of all. It is a religion that abhors all forms of violence. Prophet Muhammad (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) is a peace loving personality. Hence, terrorism can not be traced to Islam. Those who engaged in terrorist activities are doing so for their selfish motives, such as the acquisition of more territories and solid mineral resources, among others,” the Amir stated.
The National Head further highlighted some of the core activities of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which include: education, medical outreach, orphanage program, disaster recovery program, gift of sight, Community service, water for life, food for life and general welfarism. He added that the Muslim organisation discharged these activities to all humanity irrespective of their religions, ethnic groups, tribes or other affiliations.
In the education sector, the Amir restates Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s pioneering efforts of Muslim education in Nigeria, leading to the establishment of hundreds of schools (both primary and secondary) across the country before the government took over the administration of majority of the schools.
He mentioned that the Jama’at has just established a unique university named ‘MINARET UNIVERSITY IKIRUN’ with Ejigbo Campus set to host Faculty of Computer Engineering.
In his remarks, Oba Oyeyosin expressed his profound appreciation to Jama’at leadership for the visit with an inspiring presentation, and for bringing Minaret University campus to the town. He assured the team of his continuous support and cooperation to all Jama’at activities in Ejigbo Land.
Among the entourage of the respected Amir are: the Naib Amir (Deputy National Head) Finance and Administration Alhaj Mufadhil Bankole; National Jaidad (Property)
Secretary, Builder Bashirdeen Towolawi; the President Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Ede Branch Alhaj Yaqub Oni; and Assistant General Secretaries Nurudeen Akinreti and Aremu Sodiq.
