The Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Alhaj (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez on Sunday 2nd November 2025 inaugurated a new central mosque at Ilemowu in Iwo, Osun State.
The mosque, which can accommodate over 300 worshippers at a go, was single handedly constructed by Alhaja Haolat Oyedokun and completed in February 2025. While thanking and praying for the donor of the mosque, the Amir emphasized that great and everlasting rewards await anyone who is opportuned to build a mosque in his or her lifetime.
“A mosque is a sacred place of worship where billions of Muslims globally recite the Holy Qur’an everyday. You can then imagine the huge rewards all mosque donors receive every day. I will advise us all to have the intention of building a befitting mosque while on earth or at least encourage our children to construct a mosque on our behalf,” the Amir opined.
The Amir further enjoined all Muslims to always exhibit true teachings and preachings of Islam and as well avoid discrimination of sects in Islam. This, he said, will attract more people into Islam. “Let us all embrace unity in Islam and avoid hate speeches on social media. This is not healthy for propagation of Islam. There should be no discrimination of sects in Islam. No one has the power to call anyone a non-believer,” Barrister Alatoye submitted.
Other personalities that graced the occasion are: the Naib Amir (Deputy National Head) Finance & Administration Alhaj Mufadhil Bankole; National Jaidad Secretary Builder Bashirdeen Towolawi; President Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Iwo Branch Mr. Oyeniran Isiaka; and Assistant General Secretaries AMJN Mr. Nurudeen Akinreti and Mr. Aremu Sodiq.
