The Amir (National President) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria, Alhaji (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez, led a delegation to visit Hon. Idris Ajimobi, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Livestock Development, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The visitation took place in the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Abuja and was an appreciation for his representation of the President at the recently concluded 2024 annual Jalsa Salana Conference.
The Amir was accompanied by notable members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, including Dr. AbdulGaniy Enahoro (former Naib Amir for the Eastern Region), Alhaji Ahmed Sanusi (Circuit President, Abuja), Maulvi Nasir-Ahmad Mahmood ( Central Missionary, Abuja), Brother Muhammad Abdulkareem, and Dr. AbdulAzeez Ambaliu (President, Fazl Omar Sports Foundation, Nigeria).
During the meeting, the Amir expressed his profound gratitude to Hon. Idris Ajimobi for attending the Jalsa Salana as the President’s representative, commending the depth of his knowledge and the substance of his address at the event. He emphasized the importance of the annual Jalsa Salana in fostering unity and interfaith understanding.
The Amir further extended a formal invitation to President Tinubu for the 2025 edition of the Jalsa Salana, noting that it would be a historic occasion if the President attended, as it would mark the first time a sitting Nigerian President graced the event in person.
In his response, Hon. Idris Ajimobi assured the delegation that he would deliver the invitation to the President in due time.
The visit underscored the commitment of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria to maintaining strong ties with the government and highlighted the significance of Jalsa Salana as a platform for promoting harmony and understanding among diverse communities.
